Lake Ouachita (Wash'i*taw), formed in 1955, has 975 miles of undisturbed shoreline which encompass 48,000 acres of clean waters. Recognized as one of Arkansas' superior fishing lakes and known as striper capital of the world.  Lake Ouachita's wide open waters and quiet coves offer fun to water-skiers, sailing enthusiasts, canoeists, and scuba divers.

There are 20,000 acres of land around Lake Ouachita which are open to the public for hunting. Also with 21 recreation areas with 150 picnic sites, 1,106 campsites, 24 boat ramps and 13 swimming beaches
