The Alabama Rig™ is a lighter, cast-able version of the ever popular umbrella rigs that has been used for years when trolling for striped bass.Just like its heavier big brother umbrella rig, the smaller lighter rigs you can buy, modify or make come with a 2 to 5 wire harness that allows for the use of multiple baits or fish attractors on a single line. The Striper Guides on Lake Ouachita have used their own cut down modified lighter umbrella rigs for years. It was one of our secrets we use to catch fish when they start cruising the lake. Light modified Umbrellas or A-rigs can be cast or trolled on planer boards using the trolling motor as propulsion instead of fuel inefficient outboard causing no pollution to the lake helping keep Lake Ouachita one of the cleanest lake in the nation. Umbrella rigs are illegal or have limited hook usage in many states. Always check your state regulations
