Striped Bass Research on the Arkansas River

Sixteen Striped Bass from the Arkansas River were tagged with radio telemetry capsules by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. The purpose of the study was to understand the spawning migration patterns, which types of habitat and water conditions they prefer, as well as year-round travel by Striped Bass.

This Slide Show Link shows how the Oklahoma biologists tagged and released the striped bass for the study.

The 16 striped bass each have individual tag numbers.
